Even though it is still hot down here in Texas, it must be Fall because of all the antique/vintage shows that are going on throughout the state, including Round Top Antiques Week! Round Top, Texas hosts a huge gathering of vendors twice a year, in the Fall and Spring.
I was in my local craft store and saw these plastic pumpkins on sale. They were the perfect size to display in my tiered tray stand, but I did not like the colors. I decided to layer on paint to give them a rich custom look. Just like how I dry brushed my chairs in a previous post, I applied the paint in layers.
There are so many ways to give painted furniture a vintage distressed look without having to take out the sander. There are times when I do not want to sand away layers of paint to reveal the wood.
